It can be a challenge to find inner peace and happiness when you feel not so good. The best activity may be going out for a walk in nature. When you leave a stressful environment, it gives you time to clear your head to connect to happier times.
How to Bring Inner Peace Into Your Life So You Feel better?’
Do you often contemplate how to find inner peace or calm in your life?
So, throughout the day, it will take a lot to interrupt the inner peace inside.
“Most people spend their entire life imprisoned within the confines of their own thoughts. They never go beyond a narrow, mind-made, personalized sense of self that is conditioned by the past.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
What is Causing Me to Feel Anxious?
Did I need a change?
Through close introspection, I realized that I deemed everything as okay, but deep somewhere inside me, it wasn’t.
Somehow, I dismissed things that really mattered to me in the last few years and put everyone else first.
Don’t get me wrong. I love being a mom! Nevertheless, with all the responsibilities, chores and obligations, I devoted my life to everyone else but me.
I believe, somehow, I thought I didn’t deserve the attention. I don’t know why? Eventually, what happened to me was, I lost myself.
Furthermore, I thought everything was okay, but I also blocked (ignored) many things that happened in my life that weren’t okay.
For example, I thought everything needed to be perfect for everyone else. I was living up to everyone else’s expectations instead of listening to my own.
As a result, I turned my back on my own feelings, which caused me to feel anxious.
What Should I Do When I feel Anxious
The sudden realization that I had no contentment in peaceful moments made me realize how important it was to change something in my life.
Generally speaking, when unresolved issues fester somewhere in the back of your mind, it is impossible to feel peace in quiet moments.
I had to stop lying to myself that everything in my life was fine. It wasn’t fine at all!
In the past year, I embraced the idea that life happens and we can’t always be at peace. Feeling not at peace was a sign that everything was not okay.
It was at that moment that I knew I needed to change something in my life.
I came to realize I needed to deal with some stuff in my life, or I would be unhappy, not feeling at peace. I felt like I was doing all the work keeping my marriage together in my relationship, which was not good either.
I am presently reading a book that is helping me find inner peace and happiness and changing my life. If you feel like I do, I strongly recommend this book to you.
I had some emotional issues that I had turned my back on, causing me to be anxious. When unresolved issues fester somewhere in the back of your mind, it is impossible to feel peace in quiet moments.
How to Find Inner Peace with Yourself
I had to stop lying to myself that everything in my life was fine. It wasn’t fine at all…
In the past year, I embraced the idea that life happens and we can’t always be at peace. Feeling not at peace was a sign that everything was not okay. It was at that moment that I knew I needed to change something in my life. I am sure there are a lot of people like me that feel their inner peace shaken. Some live this every single day of their life. I realized that hiding emotions that I really needed to deal with in my life was causing my unhappiness in the moments where I should have been feeling peace.
I can tell you it is hard when you are doing all the work in keeping a relationship together, and the other person does nothing. With the help of a great guy who helped me change my mindset, I was able to feel better and hence change my life.
Who is Eckhart Tolle?
Eckhart Tolle is a spiritual teacher. He was born in Germany but lived on Canada’s west coast. He came out with a book called The Power of Now and A New Earth. These books are beneficial in the awakening process.
Here are a few quotes from Eckhart Tolle that guide me
“Whenever you deeply accept this moment as it is — no matter what form it takes —you are still, you are at peace.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
“When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
“To become aware of one’s own mind and emotions means there is something in you that can begin to grow. We could call that awareness. Awareness is deeper than thinking. Sometimes, I call it presence.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
“Make sure that you can use your thinking mind, but that you are not used by it. When you recognize the unconsciousness in you, that which makes the recognition possible is the arising consciousness, is awakening. You cannot fight against the ego and win, just as you cannot fight against darkness. The light of consciousness is all that is necessary. You are that light.” ~ Eckhart Tolle
