Paid owned and earned media

When you are trying to get your brand out there on the world-wide-web and you want to get traffic, there are many ways you can do this with Paid, Owned and Earned media. You can put an ad in the newspaper, craigslist, paid ad on Facebook, Twitter, social forums and much more. Let’s take a look at the differences and what that means for you when you are getting started.

What is Owned media?

Owned Media is when you own a website or blog.

This is your real estate on the internet where you decide, what you want your website to look like and what you want to say.

No one has control over what you do because you own it. The sky’s the limit! There are many ways to set up these website blogs. Some are full of lots of pictures and cool fonts and others are quite simple. Think of it as your store and make it appealing to your customers. Nobody likes to go to visit if a place is unappealing.

Welcome to the Digital Age, welcome to the Digital Market!

What is Paid Media?

Paid Media happens when you pay for traffic to come to your website or blog.

If you start with paid media to promote content it generally gets people to your website or blogs faster and they will see what you are all about. There are many social media sites to advertise on but the most popular sites would be Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. To drive traffic to your website pay per click and ads are just as effective and can convert quite well.

What is Earned Media?

Earned Media is when you have a website blog and you engage in social sites.

What this means is, you are talking to people striking up conversations in Facebook groups and engaged with a lot of people. Then you start sharing your content with them and people read and like and share your content with their friends. This is the most powerful branding method because it is all word of mouth. It is empowering knowing that someone liked your content so much that they wanted to share it with someone else. This is sometimes how content goes viral.

It is very powerful and helps people get to your website. Your content and video marketing should always lead back to your website and earned media is a good way to get people there. When you are creating content make sure it always has the value that someone else will benefit from.

The secret to branding yourself is getting enough material out there so people can see it.

The decision is up to you and how much time and money you have. Paid media is always a good place to start and will give you a kick start in your business online. If you are interested in learning more about the digital market check out this link for more information.
