How Setting Intentions Changed My Life- I’ve always seen my life as filled with goodness and love, effortlessly attracting all that I desired. However, around 15 years ago, I found myself caught up in memories of my blissful childhood and the joy of raising my children. During that time, my husband wasn’t around much, and when he was, his demeanour wasn’t always kind. Suddenly, a wave of sadness washed over me, and my life seemed to veer off course, affecting how I saw myself.
One day at one of my lowest points, I had an epiphany. I felt stuck, mainly because of issues in my marriage. I realized that life was passing me by, and despite my efforts to move forward, I felt paralyzed inside. The strain of our relationship weighed heavily on me. However, setting intentions helped me overcome this challenging time
I began setting intentions. My first one was simple: to listen to my husband more. As I did, our relationship improved. However, progress fluctuated like a wave—sometimes strong, sometimes receding. So, I added more intentions, reinforcing the original one. With daily intention-setting, the wave grew more consistent and less turbulent. I learned that my life improved when I remained faithful to my intentions, and faltered when I lost faith.
It was the intentions I set that lifted me from that sad, dark place, where I felt like a victim, and helped me see the light to move forward.
Intentions do work, acting as your guardian angel or steadfast friend, urging you not to give up. While life’s challenges may temporarily derail you, things do get better.
You will only know if you try. Start now. Set an Intention for what you want in life, whether it’s a better relationship, weight loss, or a fulfilling career. For me, it was to listen to my husband, which I repeated to myself daily. It was a small but heartfelt commitment. Today, my husband and I are still together, despite his earlier proclamation of not loving me. He apologized, explaining he was in a bad place. We talked and listened every day.
This is my story, and I hope it inspires you if you’re facing unhappiness. Make an intention, no matter how small. Watch as your life changes for the better.
